Behind the Scenes: Link2Love Singles Night at The Residence MK

Last Thursday was our Link2Love event at The Residence in Milton Keynes. After months of planning (and a few nerves on my part!), it finally came to life.

Guests started arriving just after 7pm, and I was there at the door to welcome each one personally. Some came with friends, others arrived solo, but very quickly, the room started buzzing. There were welcome drinks, cocktails, and plenty of chatter as people found their confidence and settled in.

We’d planned a few icebreakers, but what surprised me most was how naturally everyone connected. Within half an hour, groups were forming, laughter was filling the room, and conversations flowed without effort. A couple of guests who were visibly nervous at the start soon relaxed and ended up talking the whole night. Watching that unfold felt so rewarding and exactly why I started Link2Love in the first place.

Not everyone joined the Lock & Key game we had prepared, and that was completely fine. Some enjoyed just mingling at their own pace, while others picked up conversation cards to keep chats flowing. By the end of the evening, there were new friendships, swapped numbers, prizes won and even a couple of guests who left together.

Seb and the team at The Residence were brilliant hosts, making sure the drinks kept flowing and the atmosphere stayed relaxed, we were serenaded by the absolutely incredible artist Sarah Hart. Everyone commented on how it was the perfect vibe for chatting to new faces. One of the highlights for me was seeing people linger at the end, not rushing off, but staying because they were enjoying themselves.

We’ll be back with more opportunities to connect in unique ways:

Manifest & Mingle on Monday 27th October at The Space Within, Astwood. A mindful evening of guided meditation for ages 28 to 35 followed by herbal teas, cupcakes, and a relaxed mingle.

Brewpoint Singles Night on Thursday 30th October in Bedford. A private brewery tour and speed dating experience for ages 40–55, with plenty of time to meet new people.

Every event is different, but the heart of Link2Love stays the same: creating safe spaces where real connections feel easy and natural.
